"Children in the early childhood years need to develop math process skills including problem solving, reasoning, communicating, connecting, and representing (NCTM, 2000). These process skills transcend mathematics, involving lifelong skills that children need to be successful in all areas of their lives." My students will utilize the multiplication, division, and fraction centers all while musing over mathematical processes. They will be able to interact with their peers on beanbags all while learning and using various math strategies. By having these resources, my students will be able to problem solve, reason, communicate, and represent; therefore, creating lifelong skills and learners that go beyond basic math.
