Hola, I teach Spanish 1 and 2 at McMinnville HS. This will be my 19th year in this position. Foreign language classrooms function much like an elementary classroom does, because my students (grades 9-12 mixed) are basically beginning learners in their second language. As such, we do a lot of work with projects, art supplies, tagboard, markers, and so forth. We have as a department what amounts to about $100 per person per year, which maybe gets me through October if I make it stretch. Our students are high poverty and at the HS level, we do not send out supply lists. Any supplies your donors can supplement are more than appreciated and takes the burden off of my own pocket, which is how I have often funded my classroom needs.
