All the fundamental building blocks for reading and writing begin in kindergarten. I have asked for writing supplies that will help support and improve my students' abilities to legibly print all the upper and lowercase letters of the alphabet.
The lined white boards will provide specific guidance to each student on proper handwriting techniques. For example, the dotted lines will tell the students where to start writing and where to stop. How tall to make their letters and how to write in a straight line. And, the use of the Expo markers will encourage my students to improve their fine motor skills and develop neat handwriting.
The larger magnetic white boards will be used by myself and my assistant to help model the writing process in both whole group and small group instruction. And, when the writing lessons are over, each student will use one knitted glove as an eraser when they are done writing on the white boards.
