This year I am offering an extra-curricular activity for our students after school called MakerSpace Monday. MakerSpace is a place for students to gather and invent, create, collaborate and problem solve. While I have been collecting recyclables to use in some projects, additional supplies are needed to accommodate a wide variety of activities for all student levels.
Although we will begin with simple activities such as origami, puzzles, and building structures from recyclable materials, as we learn together and build our MakerSpace inventory, the projects will increase in complexity while supporting STEAM curriculum. Students will explore design and engineering through the K'Nex, Legos, Strawbees, and ETI Toys kits. They will use creativity, collaboration and problem-solving to design with the cardboard supplies, card stock and tape. Your generous donations are needed to help fund the materials for these projects. I look forward to the excitement in the students' faces as they work with Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics in an engaging way!
