As I previously mentioned, despite the personal challenges, these scholars seek to academically soar and learn to the fullest capacity. These students are so eager to learn and are deserving of access to high-interest, relevant, rich, engaging texts. Scholastic News is the ideal source of texts that will continue to motivate these students as well as further stimulate their desire to read. The online and printed resources will also provide students a relevant way to make connections within their world. Scholastic StoryWorks will provide awesome reinforcement in reading and grammar skills. This is greatly needed! Similar to Scholastic News, StoryWorks also promotes a sense of engagement and excitement. I have used these subscriptions in the past, and I can still vividly remember the smiles of the students when the magazines were distributed throughout the classroom. However, currently, within our school district, the budget has become quite tight. Consequently, this has affected how we spend funds at the school. Therefore, it has not been in budget to purchase these for each grade level. So, I have decided to reach out via ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ so that my students can have access to these impactful resources.
