In our Title I school, we believe literacy is vital for student success. In my classroom, I want to introduce my students to many different types of text that allows them to be engaged and become excited about reading. I want the resources I bring into my classroom to be related to curriculum standards, while still preparing my students to be lifelong readers.
These magazine resources allows my students to read new and interesting stories that they can take home and read again and again. This will allow the majority of my students who come from low income homes to have a variety of text to read at home.
