The 7th grade class last year took a survey on how to better our school. One of their responses was to have less down time in PE class. They hate having to sit out due to lack of gym space. No matter how creative we are as PE teachers, we still do not have enough room to have all 60 students in each PE hour participating at one time in team sports like floor hockey, volleyball, soccer, etc.
This project would help section off our gym into smaller, safer playing areas for all students to participate in the activity. The border patrols can safely split the gym into 2, 3, or 4 small courts/fields for floor hockey, indoor soccer, or team handball. Now, all of our kids would be able to participate at one time, and no one would be sitting out on the sidelines waiting for their team's turn to play. All kids would now get their much needed 60 minutes of moderate-vigorous physical activity instead of their typical 15-30 minutes.
