Mariachi ensembles welcome Latinos into the school and community, usually leading to increased parental involvement. Our mariachi program provides with a diverse course offering help, establish a school climate which visibly and purposefully celebrates diversity, teaching students to respect and appreciate other cultures. Mariachi programs place a high value on the cultural heritage in Mexico.
There are stronger connections between the student and school lead to higher academic achievement in all subjects.
The bow is considered an extension of the right hand. The violin bows requested are suitable for beginning or possibly early intermediate. They will be ones that can help the student get to the next level of playing. It is both lightweight and strong, allowing for the wide range of motions necessary to play the violin. In combination with great quality violin strings, the sound of the violins could fill up auditoriums! This is a great motivator for students to pass all ther core courses because in order for them to participate they must be passing all classes.
Students develop a life-long love of music and often continue making music after graduation. Mariachi classes involve Latino students who are typically not involved in traditional school music programs, providing music education to a higher percentage of students.
