My performing arts students are old enough and aware enough to know what a "polite clap" is. They are old enough to recognize that only early elementary kids get unwavering vigorous applause. Middle and High school performers have to earn it.
It is so disappointing to students who have worked for months on their performance, to get a "polite clap" or silence after well timed jokes, simply because the audience cannot hear them.
These microphones will help make sure that every kid who has polished their craft to the best of their ability will be able to enjoy the rewards of using that craft to move the emotions of the audience. The audience, in turn, will have a much more powerful experience when they can fully appreciate the performers presentation.
