There were many times over the last couple of years that I wished I had an ipad in my classroom so that I could use it for lessons and assist my struggling learners. With budget cuts, access to new technology is just not available to each teacher on a daily basis.
As a result of not having daily access to needed technological tools last, I used my personal cell phone in my classroom daily so that they could access digital tools and resources so they could be successful in class. I allowed students to use it to research and access the learning apps I had included in my lessons. In addition, I had several students who came to my class speaking absolutely no English. These students and I often used my phone to communicate with each other via the Google translate app.
My students would benefit from having access to the newest ipad technology because my classes would have access to it daily. In addition, they are familiar with ipad and Apple technology so they could use the device with ease. This device will allow my students to be engaged in technology lessons that utilize the many beneficial applications and resources that will assist in meeting the diverse needs of my students.
