Ukuleles are a lot of fun for students. Using time forgotten nursery rhyme songs along with popular pop songs, students will learn how to play one, two and/or three chord songs on the ukuleles. Students will also learn other aspects of music such as note names and counting and rhythms.
Ukuleles are novel and fun to work with which will keep students interested in the music. Students will be able to take this information learned into their own lives like singing campfire songs with the family.
If Bar Nunn had a full set of ukuleles, I would be able to use them on a daily basis instead of signing up for the district set. Students will be more engaged in the lessons taught in music class.
