The purpose of this project is to allow my students to use these tools to improve their social skills across multiple environments. Students with Autism show greater learning through demonstrations and role playing. Using visual examples, stories, and role playing, my students will improve their social skills opportunities and demonstrate growth.
My goal is to strengthen the student's social skills abilities, which will improve behavioral responses in social situations. When students demonstrate greater social skills, it prepares them for successful mainstreaming opportunities. As with most special needs classes, I encourage mainstreaming opportunities. Through demonstration of positive social skills, students can focus on their academic development.
