Our 4th grade math classroom in Pittsburgh’s Homewood neighborhood is an inclusive, engaging space that supports both special education students and gifted scholars. Desks are arranged for small-group work, and a math corner with manipulatives encourages hands-on learning. Lessons are differentiated to challenge advanced learners and provide scaffolding and visual supports for those who need them. We promotes a growth mindset, celebrates effort, and uses real-life applications, collaboration, and frequent check-ins to ensure all students feel supported and successful.
