Our school has a physical education program that is lacking. My students do not have organized time to be active with a physical education professional, so that position is left to me during our class time. Therefore, we try to incorporate movement and activity in the classroom as much as possible. When I asked my students if they had ideas on how to move while still doing their work, they said,
"We don't want to sit in our chairs; can we find something cooler to sit on?" As we brainstormed different ideas together, they chose the FitBALL discs and Wobble Chairs as their favorite seating options. They said that sitting on these objects will increase their focus by allowing their "wiggles" out, while still working on the task at hand.
