For this project, my students will read "To Kill a Mockingbird" and...
- learn about an unreliable narrator
- discuss the use of the "N Word" used in the book
- discuss (as a class) key events throughout the story
- learn to support their analysis of this text by quoting and paraphrasing
- practice summarizing
- and write an argumentative essay at the end.
My hope is that by digging in and analyzing this amazing story that students will be more reflective about the injustice that exists today. They will then in turn be more likely to be the change that they wish to see.
