My students want a parachute for our PE class. We currently borrow two parachutes from a neighboring school and do not have our own. The children beg to play the parachute "games" and must wait until they are available to do so.
Having our own parachute will allow the students to exercise while having a blast! Many fun and active games can be played with the parachute! For example, the number game. A number, assigned to students before the game begins, is called and those students run underneath the chute to the opposite side while the remaining students move their arms up and down causing the chute to ripple. The children absolutely love this game and laughter can be heard bouncing off the walls in the gym!
My parachute project is a way for kids to have a GREAT TIME while getting exercise. This combination of fun and exercise will set each student up for a lifetime of healthy living!
