Students will have resources at their fingertips to help them learn. In science, they will explore light with color mixing glasses and acrylic prisms, participate in hands-on learning activities like making Arctic animal habitats with insta-snow, and record their observations in writing notebooks with lines to guide them in practicing correct letter formation. They will have clearly displayed visual aids, including a magnetic number line, pocket charts for word building, a color-coded calendar display that shows the season, month, day, and year, and a day count chart with straws that they will bundle for hands-on practice with place value. Finally, they will have access to a classroom library of wonderful stories that will help them draw connections between themselves and the world.
