Many of our students do not have an effective way to communicate their needs and wants. Imagine not being able to tell people what you are thinking and what you want. The best way to help them do this is through low tech and high tech communication devices, pictures, and sign language such as the recorder and talking communicator I am requesting.
These devices will give students the opportunity to participate during recess, singing time, snack time, reading activities, math activities, and transitions.
Having a device available will help the children have fewer temper tantrums and melt downs and more opportunities to participate and have fun. They will be able, overall, to experience as normal a school day as possible.
