This calm-down chair and resources will be an inviting area in my room to allow students to work on getting themselves ready for school. The book will be available for students to read to help promote their awareness of their anger and calm down. We have a group of low Kindergarten students coming from our Early Childhood Centers and we need to work on letter identification, language development and shared classroom experiences. Our students come to the resource room to get extra support and need some organizational supports (back of the chair organizers) to teach organization skills. Many students do not come to our Kindergarten ready to read. They need resources to learn their letters and sight words. These resources would help students overcome their weaknesses.
