With this positive reinforcement tactic, receiving the iPad mini for our classroom will allow my students to be rewarded with technology as they complete their work, modify their behavior, or improve their social/emotional well being. Thus, the iPad will encourage the students to comply with my daily requests. Without an iPad incentive on hand, the child may be disappointed, which sometimes leads to a breakdown in behavior. An additional iPad would really help my students to stay on task and continue moving forward with their academic success.
Often these students stay in my class for multiple years, so I am always looking for ways to introduce new experiences and keep them interested in school activities. For example, I would like to have circle time every morning to go over the days of week, sing songs, tell short stories, and discuss the weather. However, some of the students struggle to sit on the carpet. Â I think by having cube chairs it will help them stay focused during these 30 minutes. Â I find it easier when children sit on the adaptable chairs because when they are comfortable they remain attentive to the lesson; allowing them to continue learning.
I truly believe my students deserve these donations. These beautiful children are already excited when they step into the classroom, regardless of their daily struggles. I want to encourage this excitement and center it towards continuing to develop academically, socially, and confidently.
