I want to give my students the opportunity to learn in a classroom where movement is built into their learning by the use of flexible seating. Flexible seating allows students to work comfortably throughout a 7 hour day, rather than sitting rigidly at a desk.
Flexible seating increases student motivation, engagement in their learning, it is also linked to higher academic performance, and improved behavior within the school day.
I would love to implement flexible seating especially during my guided reading block to give students the essentials of the 4 C's( collaboration, creativity, communication, and critical thinking.) Also, flexible seating allows students to make their own academic choices to help promote independence and life long learning.
