I'm requesting funding for math projects for my students. Project Based Learning (PBL) is really starting to become a pivotal point in the development of student's cognitive ability levels and preparing them for the 21st century. PBL helps students develop skills for living in a knowledge-based, highly technological society. The goal is to do as many hand-on activities to keep students actively engaged. This will also allow students to be more exposed to real life situations that include real life problems. The printer and ink will provide us the materials that are needed to be printed for the many projects.
The old-school model of passively learning facts and reciting them out of context is no longer sufficient to prepare students to survive in today's world. These donations will not only help to improve my teaching style and active engagement strategies, but will also help my students to dig deeper in their learning. "One of the major advantages of project work is that it makes school more like real life. It's an in-depth investigation of a real-world topic worthy of children's attention and effort."
