I teach Kindergarten at a Title 1, year round school in the center of a large city. In my classroom there are English as Second language learners as well as special needs students that are integrated throughout the day.
Our school has recently begun a K3+ program that gives students an extra 5 weeks of school during the summer. This program gives children and families a free academic alternative to daycare or babysitting and is designed so that the students I teach during this 5 weeks stay with me throughout the school year.
