I want to create a student-centered learning studio that meets the needs of each student. Students in my classes are given the freedom to choose their optimum work environment. This is a life skill that I want my students to learn this year. They are becoming more self-aware every day.
Having various seating options will allow students to discover what works best for them. We need wobble stools, cushions, stability balls, and balancing pods. These seats will allow student movement while in the classroom. Research has shown that increased movement throughout the day will stimulate students to be more engaged and focused on their learning. Students learn more when they are active participants in their learning.
