In Delaware many of my students haven’t felt or seen the effects of an earthquake. These sets will allow my students to understand the effects of earthquakes and how structure allows different bridges to withstand the effects of an earthquake. This relates directly to my curriculum and learning targets but this system will help me get my students to understand the concepts of the lesson and get to do something super hands on and fun! I am planning on sharing these materials with my co teacher so that all of the 6th grade students in my building get to experience this awesome lab set up and truly understand the concepts of waves and tectonic plates as well as structure and function relationships and energy.
