Hi Donors!
My name is Heather Chavez and I am a dual language teacher. I have taught all 14 years of my educational career in Title I schools and serving students that are economically disadvantaged. Every year I spend around $200 dollars of my own personal money to assist my students meet their physical needs (snacks, lunch and clothing). Church donations help and sometimes my own family assists me with donations. This year my students' needs have outgrown my personal budget. I have 90% of my students on Free or Reduced lunch. To ensure equity amongst all students in my school, I want my students to be able to have the materials to complete reading projects in 1st grade.
