My students need a fun, Terrific Squares colorful whole group meeting carpet to provide a spot for discussions, read-alouds, and modeled instruction. On this carpet, it is my goal to facilitate higher-level thinking and build a classroom community. This carpet will be the centerpiece of our classroom. It will be purposed to promote classroom meetings, discussions, higher-level thinking, and classroom community. I am an advocate for read-alouds, modeled instruction, and a close-knit learning team. On this carpet, students will learn, grow, and discover. They will become leaders who have control over their own learning. They will collaborate with their peers and investigate. They will read, play educational games, interact with the SMARTboard, and experience more rigorous teacher-facilitated discussions. This carpet is the foundation of the higher-level learning community my students need as they enter into the new school year.
