I am extremely fortunate to spend my days teaching K-2 students with special needs. The last few months have been extremely challenging as we deal with the restrictions on learning due to COVID-19. My students have been back and forth between in-person and remote learning They have adjusted beautifully and we could all take some inspiration on adaptability and perseverance from them!
Remote learning has introduced new online resources that greatly benefit my students' instruction, particularly in reading and writing. These online programs allow my students to develop and enhance their reading and writing skills in ways that are especially appealing to them!
I teach in a low-income area where 100% of my students receive free lunch. We do not have the resources to provide students with in-classroom access to devices that will allow them to utilize these online resources. These iPads and protective cases will give all of my students the chance to experience and learn from the online programs.
