The physical set-up of a classroom is important because it's the first thing a student sees when they walk in. Students spend much of their day in the classroom, which should feel warm and comfortable. Rooms that do this will improve student morale and make students happier to be there. Our learning environment will support positive interactions and empower students in the process. Books will be organized into the storage bins by reading level, author, genre or current topics. Students will feel comfortable in their reading nook area and will be able to find a book of interest independently and efficiently. Factors such as unorganized bookshelves, random desk patterns, and excess clutter can all make for unsuccessful learning experiences. A messy, (physically) unorganized classroom also creates a sense of instability. Easily accessible materials and supplies can eliminate delays, disruptions, and confusion as students prepare for engaging, learning activities. These items will help to create a classroom that will be a positive learning environment that each student loves to come into every day!
