Having ukuleles in my classroom with provide students with unique opportunity to connect with music and express their creativity. Students sing and play recorders throughout their time in music class. However, ukuleles will enhance my current curriculum and reach students still who are hesitant to connect with music. The students at my school have many opportunities to be involved in athletic extra-curricular activities. There are not very many opportunities for students interested in the arts.
Ukuleles would create an additional opportunity for students to get involved and create their own connection with music.
This would create a unique learning opportunity for these students that would not otherwise be available. My students would love this experience and I hope to be able to provide it for them.
