Our school district has had mariachi bands for more than 15 years now and the culture of mariachi is very important for our community. Our students have the opportunity to meet our state standards for music by playing a style that is part of their ancestors' heritage. San Luis, AZ is a border town where 95% of the people share Mexican traditions.
