We all know that learning should be fun and meaningful.
I am requesting a sand and water table, dry sand, molding sand, and mathematical “sand tools”. With this sand and water table, my students will be able to hunt for fossils during our dinosaur theme. They will be able to explore our rock and fossil collection. They will be able to go on a treasure hunt to find coins, and count the value of the money they found. They will be able to make craters, exploring the sizes made by dropping marbles from varying heights. They will be able to identify objects that float and sink. They will be able to mold sand into geometric shapes. Molding will also improve their fine motor skills, by strengthening the hand and finger muscles. The possible learning opportunities are endless!
Through the use of a sand and water table, my students will be given the opportunity to participate in learning activities while they are playing!
