With iPads. my students will be able to record newscasts or movie trailers based on what they learned in class or create an exciting book report. My students will also be able to complete both formative and summative assessments using an interactive testing method. The iPads will also be used for virtual manipulatives during math instruction in small groups. My students will use the iPads to open up new books and adventures in literature while searching for research articles.
While studying both the universe and the world of microorganisms, the students will be able to use the iPads as a virtual telescope and a virtual microscope. Since most of my students have not had the opportunity to handle a tablet, this will be an exciting new adventure of learning and they will discover new ways to enhance their knowledge. Finally, my students will have the chance to work architectural magic while learning about surface area and geometric calculations. Their world will grow as they increase the knowledge but also keep it all within a couple "taps," or "slides" of a finger!
