Some of my students start out the year with a large supply of basic classroom materials, others come with nothing. As the year progresses those who came prepared begin to see dwindling personal supplies that often doesn't get replenished.
No matter the subject, age level, or location: all students need access to basic classroom materials! Teachers regularly supply students with paper, pencils, markers, glue, and the list goes on and on. We want to see our students succeed and those basic materials are essential to that process.
In our math classroom, lined notebook paper and pencils are as necessary as the air we breathe. We go through a 500 pack of paper every week and dozens of pencils. A math notebook is essential to keeping track of our notes and we often glue materials into this notebook to make it more interesting or attention grabbing. The materials I have requested will directly benefit my students on a daily basis.
