My students will use the triple beam balances to measure the mass of objects. They will discover that different objects have different amounts of matter and some objects can have equal amounts of matter. They will learn that looks can be deceiving because even though some objects may measure the same height and width, the amount of matter or mass is different.
My students will see cells in action under the microscope and will learn that cells are the basic unit of living things. They will learn that cells help to create numerous parts of living organisms, such as cells make tissues, tissues create organs, organs create organ systems and together these levels of organization create a living organism. They will also learn that without the cell, there wouldn't be any living organisms!
