My class is already lucky enough to have a Chromebook lab. They are amazing, we're grateful to have them, and we use them daily! What we need are some headphones so that everyone can be using them simultaneously. Our math program has a great online component. Our reading and science programs do to. But imagine an entire room full of students with Chromebooks all working through different steps in the learning process at the same time... it can get noisy and distracting!
There are so many amazing online resources, and having access to headphones will help my students to better utilize those resources and move at their own pace. Our fourth graders already use their Chromebooks during math and literacy centers, but because other groups are meeting with me or concentrating quietly, those on Chromebooks have to keep their volume very low or off. Having a class set of headphones will allow all of the students to watch and hear the instructional videos that are part of our online programs. The splitters will allow the kids to work in partners.
We're also asking for some whiteboard markers because each student loves to work math problems on their small whiteboards. The presentation clicker will help students to get experience leading discussions and presenting their ideas to the class. They often make presentations in Google slides, and the clicker will allow them to talk through their presentation while their Chromebook is plugged in to the projector at the back of the room. The electric stapler will help our class because everyday we do two pages of math out of our workbooks, and every day we tear out those two pages and staple them together. The stapling can sometimes take quite awhile, so this electronic stapler will get us back to work li
