My students come to school every day (with 98.4% attendance) in a diverse, low-income, urban community. They are Asian, African American, Latino and Caucasian. One goal, as a school community, is to focus on the whole child.
My classroom is dedicated to tolerance and humanitarianism. I focus my lessons on the human experience to instill empathy into my students in hopes to create a better world for their generation and generations after.
We utilize a vast range of texts, sources, and technology that is available to further understand our world and the responsibilities of a citizen of the United States. I want my students to continue to ask deeper questions about their world, analyze perspectives of others, and be able to support their ideas with evidence.
