My 6th grade math and science students have created interactive math and interactive science notebooks to practice the habits of great mathematicians and scientists: note taking, data collecting, and reflecting. They move between the two subjects in a core class period; so, they must efficiently store and find the appropriate notebook for the appropriate part of our core period. These tabletop paper centers and notebook cubbies will help my students to stay organized and move seamlessly between their two interactive notebooks. Students will spend less time searching for the correct notebook, and instead spend more time working in collaborative math group work and in building their scientific community.
