My amazing middle school students are hard-working, motivated teens in my resource program at Stanford Middle School. The students in my class come to me as their elective to learn test taking strategies and study skills in addition to receiving curriculum assistance. We are currently exploring "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens" and they constantly amaze me with their insights and generosity of spirit. All students require different levels and types of assistance from reading and writing strategies, math support, and self-management of time and focusing strategies.
My math class provides a modified curriculum for students who have gaps in their learning and struggle to keep up in the general education classroom because the pacing is too fast. Students work in three leveled groups and are challenged to increase their skills and understandings of math concepts through as many learning channels as possible.
