One of my biggest jobs as a first grade teacher is to teach my students how to read! But for me, I do not just want to teach them how to read. I also want to inspire them to love reading!
A kid who loves to read is going to be a kid who loves to learn! In our digital world, I still believe there is something magical about opening an actual book and being transported into the text. With the addition of these books to my classroom library, I am hoping that is what I will do. My students will be able to choose from a variety of books on different grade levels.
The best way to create independent readers is to help them find books that interest them! I know that with this project, my students will be well on their way to becoming lifelong readers!
