STEAM - Full Speed AHEAD! Please include my Special Education Students! Our school has just become the first STEAM school in our district. What does this mean? Turning "ME" to "WE". STEAM is an educational approach to learning that incorporates Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics as access points for guiding student inquiry, dialogue and critical thinking (Susan Riley). So what does this mean for my class? A new approach to learning. Although I have always believed in a FUNdamental learning environment, teaching STEAM to my population of students will require some much needed resources in my classroom. My population of students have a variety of special needs from Autism, ADD, ADHD, Down Syndrome, Intellectual Disabilities, Occupational and Physical disabilities and Speech and Language delays. Help us be able to access this curriculum.
