As an elementary teacher, I help my students develop creative critical thinking and problem-solving skills so that they can become actively engaged and responsible young citizens. I have the privilege of working with students from a range of diverse socio-economic, racial and cultural backgrounds. This makes for a socially rich learning environment. Our children learn best when they have culturally relevant and personally engaging literature and classroom materials. These resources will support my efforts in helping my students develop confidence and a lifelong love for learning.
