Most of the materials (color pencils, markers, paper, card stock etc.) will be used to facilitate the use of their interactive science notebooks. These notebooks are not only used to take class notes and to jot down data. They also serve as a space for students to reflect on what they learned and as a portfolio to refer to as they progress through the unit.
Adding these materials to our science classroom will give our 5th graders the tools they need to soar above and beyond their expectations.
Other materials will be used to facilitate instruction and the classroom atmosphere.
