The carpet squares will enable my kindergarten students to have independent space within our classroom. These carpet squares provide each student with a personal space to read, work and learn uninterrupted. These squares will help each child to focus on his/her learning.
Having unique learning space in the classroom will give each student interdependent control, ownership and a sense of independence as they maneuver through their first year of school. The carpet squares allow each student to choose where they want to learn. They will learn responsibility and care of the carpet squares and what it means to maintain the cleanliness of their learning environment.
