To begin their second year of the IB Literature course, my students will read works of literature translated into English. We will begin our course with the powerful novel Woman at Point Zero, by the Egyptian writer Nawal El Saadawi.
At this time, our school does not have the funds to purchase a class set of the novel my students will read, and, which they will use to prepare for the IB examinations in the spring semester. My students have overcome so much. These novels will empower them to succeed in a college-level course, an opportunity that they cannot afford to lose.
