I service students from preschool to eighth grade, with varying disabilities, in a very impoverished city in Southern California. Many of my students come from very large families where both parents work and have very little time or money to spend on "extras".
That being said, my students rarely get to experience different activities to enhance their physical fitness and abilities. The joy on my student's faces when I pull out a new activity makes me forget everything negative that exists because I know they do not get to enjoy such activities very often.
