There are currently 63 ESOL students in 6th grade who receive direct services. The instruction that they are given from the ESOL teachers and their classroom teachers are specifically designed to help them build their English language skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
Dictionaries provide students the support to look up the definitions of unknown words. They also provide pronunciations and parts of speech that build a student's understanding of language. One of the accommodations that they receive is the use of dictionaries in the classroom. The school provides the students with dictionaries to use in the classroom, however, having access to this accommodation at home will also support their language development.
