Listening to fluent readers allows students to comprehend and analyze books beyond their reading ability. I am asking for one listening station with 4 sets of headphones. So a small group can listen to books independently and then discuss the book with each other. Reading is a life-long skill that cannot be taken away. The places my students will go, and the destinations they will be exposed to will expand beyond the walls of my classroom. I am excited to share science books, social studies journeys, math stories, and other great fiction and non-fiction texts that my students may not have access to.
