I have found that my students learn best when they are not restricted to their desk and chair but, rather, when they're allowed to move around and explore in their own personal space. I love letting them shift around the room to find the spot where they can work best, but right now our options are limited. I strive to provide for my students a comfortable, safe learning environment. We need stools, chairs, and bean bags. With these items available, my students will have an opportunity to learn in their own space. It is amazing to watch the shift in confidence and understanding when a child is able to move, think without distraction, and solve problems in an environment of their choice. For this reason, I have requested comfortable alternative seating options so that my students can find freedom to learn in their own space.
