"Time for Kids" is a weekly personal magazine subscription that will be shipped to the classroom. Each child will get his or her own copy! The magazine features current event articles that are engaging and often include excellent photographs with captions. "Around the World" is a separate personal magazine subscription. In each issue, our students will have an opportunity to zoom-in and learn about a different continent, country, city or culture from around the world.
These resources will enhance our 3rd grade reading and writing curriculum, as well as our 3rd grade thematic units of study surrounding world communities. Sometimes we will use the magazines in the classroom, but often we will send this home with students to keep. Children love adding new literature to their personal library. They also can use it for their nightly non-fiction reading homework.
Our goal is to help our students become the best possible readers and writers, but we also seek to foster their growth as world community members. We feel as though these prescriptions will be an excellent asset towards achieving all of this!
